Ladies' View

Ladies' View is one of Chicago's premier Irish bands. Over the past eight years, this group of talented women has brought its lively sound to clubs, weddings, and festivals throughout the area. Ladies' View takes its name from a scenic spot near Killarney in the southwest of Ireland.

The Ladies are: Siobhán McKinney on flute, who hails from Kerry, in the Sliabh Luachra region of Ireland; Karen Reshkin fiddle, late of the band Baltiorum; versatile guitarist Veronica Savoie; and songwriter Amy Shoemaker on bouzouki. All four are vocalists as well as instrumentalists and blend their voices in rich harmony on contemporary songs and old ballads. Together they perform a wide range of traditional Irish tunes, from the baroque melodies of Irish composer Turlough O'Carolan to exuberant jigs, raucous reels, and the breathless Kerry polka!
