The current line up features the estimable Mike Katz (Highland pipes/ small pipes/various whistles/bass guitar), founding member Alan Reid (keyboards/guitar/vocals), Alasdair White (fiddle/whistle/banjo/ bazouki/Highland and small pipes/bodhran), and returning member Pat Kilbride. Fitzgerald's 6615 Roosevelt Rd. Berwyn, IL http://www.fitzgeraldsnightclub.com tickets: http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/32793 Sunday October 3, 7:00pm, $24 Tannahill Weavers Except for the ever-shifting highland bagpipe slot, the Tannies have had the same lineup for quite a few years now. With stable membership and a consistent musical approach you know exactly what you're going to get from these guys, and it's good: tight instrumental sets and gorgeous Scottish songs. The highland pipes, flute, fiddle, guitar, bouzouki standard formula will sound familiar--it's a formula they helped establish. Some publicity for this event still says it's September 19th, but that's obsolete info. The October 3rd date has been confirmed.
